Relief goods might be rushing to the highly affected areas in the Philippines hit by Super Typhoon Haiyan (locally known as Super Typhoon Yolanda). But lives and livelihood of the survivors should be rising up again and once more.
To some of the survivors, aside from relying support from the government, resourcefulness will put their lives back into its place. From the idea of his children, Jimmy Obaldo, 52, experimented on transforming a refrigerator to a boat. The curious children thrown the idea, “Can we use the refrigerator as a boat?”
The refrigerator might be previously used to save caught fish from decomposing by putting them on the fridge, it has proven it’s worth even more. Attaching bamboo floats to the sides, the makeshift boat is now used to go back to the seas and catch fish. Obaldo’s family now catches fish, crabs, and prawns with the this makeshift boats.
