Because you usually slip on a wet floor (that’s true to me at least), scientists offer a new solution to your pains: Waterproof Surfaces.
The image featured in this article is an animated proof of this new profound invention. Hydrophobic surfaces act like a lotus flower. When water is in contact with the surface, it will completely flatten like a pancake before bouncing off. The flattening part will therefore produces a chance of the floor absorbing some of it.
Scientists then realized breaking the water into droplets would somehow lessen the chance of the surface absorbing it. Adding microtextures on the surface did the trick. The microtextures distribute water and break the flattened water to prevent it from forming back to a drop.
You might find this new discovery helpful especially on your homes to protect your little children from slipping while learning how to walk.
